On Saturday, October 4, 2025, Dobbs Ferry held their annual Ferry Festa, a street fair with lots to see, do and enjoy. The first Ferry Festa was held in 2002 after 9/11 as a way to bring the community together.
This year’s Festa was on a beautiful and unusually warm October day. It brought quite the crowd to the streets. There was lots of fun to be had there; one could even say too much if that’s even possible. Not to mention all the stalls with breathtaking wares ranging from cute clothes to stunning crystals.
The variety of food was incredible and tasted just as good as it smelled. There were food stands everywhere with every kind of fried food imaginable. There was a pizza oven and mini cakes in jars like five different ice cream trucks and every restaurant on the block had their own stand.
Every turn had a different band playing all the classics. One band even welcomed a little kid into the group for one song. The music playing through the streets made everyone’s hearts sing.
There were loads of activities to do as well. My personal favorite was the henna and face paint stall. The person running it was an artist who could work magic with her Henna Cone. A henna tattoo is a temporary tattoo using a paste made from dried leaves that stays on for a week and a half to two weeks. In addition, there was a bouncy house stationed right next to the band. “The bouncy house was my favorite part of the Ferry Festa,” said David Troncoso, 11, of Dobbs Ferry.
A whole day of Ferry Festa fun leaves a person tired but when leaving we all still want to go back and have more fun with our families and friends. The Festa brings the community together and is loved by all.
