Middle Schoolers Perform in Legally Blonde Jr.

On Friday November 20th and Saturday November 21st, the cast of Legally Blonde Jr ? performed three shows for hundreds of spectators.   After a month of rehearsals, hard work, choreography and a month of singing, Legally Blonde Jr. started coming together.

“They were a good team and worked together well,” said Director and Middle School Chorus Teacher, Mrs. DeFalco. After school performers all rushed home to get some rest after the long days of rehearsals. It was hard, but they loved every minute of it. “I liked acting and being a part of the cast.  It was super fun,” commented Felix Danishmend, who played Emmett in the musical.  Sixth grader Hannah Kovach, who played Gaelen, agreed.  “I loved being a part of the cast because I got to become really close with a bunch of amazing people! I was glad to work with the 8th graders because it was their last middle school musical.”

Ms. DeFalco (Director), Ms. Newhouse (Choreographer), Jamie Rockafellow (Student Director) and plenty of other dance assistants, stage crew and the Rat Pack have dedicated their time for the past two months to make the show the best it can be. The opening show was a huge success as was the closing show.

Legally Blonde is the story of a  girl named Elle Woods who gets dumped by her boyfriend Warner, because he doesn’t think she is serious. She attempts to impress him by getting into Harvard Law School, but instead she meets Warner’s new girlfriend Vivienne. She continues to stand out during class appearing to be too perky and pink. Elle then meets Emmett Forrest, her eventual love interest. Elle Woods becomes a lawyer and friends with exercise queen Brooke Wyndham. Everyone at Harvard is beginning to realize that Elle is actually smart, until Professor Callahan Fires her! Elle is invited back to the law firm and  wins her first  case and asks Emmett to Marry her! So all and all it is a happy ending for Elle Woods and Emmett Forrest. “My favorite part of the show was the song “Legally Blonde”, but overall it was a very professional and humorous musical.  I was interested in seeing the play because because a lot of my friends are in it,” said Genevieve Greco.

Congrats to the Cast and Crew of Legally Blonde Jr for putting on a stellar performance!
