Dobbs Ferry Football Season in Review

Though the Eagles encountered a season-ending loss at the hands of Liberty last week, our team has had an exceptional season. Our seniors have played their hearts out this year, knowing it was their last chance to make an impact.

Senior QBs Ted Annunziato and the injured Chris Cipriano were the sparks of our offense, being able to both run and pass out of the pocket. Another senior, Jibril Kapadia, was our go-to rusher, steamrolling to over 2,500 yards. Tight end Thomas Cullen, wide receiver Danny DiRusso, and multi-positioned Kenny “Jet” Torres rounded out the offense.

On the defensive side, Najee Smith flew all around the field, leading the Eagles in interceptions, while linebacker Hadi Darvish gave opposing wide receivers a run for their money. The defensive line, composed of Alex Capuano, Leon Campbell, and Kyle Coache (among others) was tough and resilient. After all, defense wins games.

From the sidelines, Coach Moran called the plays on both sides of the ball. At the end of his second season, he has compiled a stellar record of 18-2. On defense, linebacker coach Keith Galante and defensive coordinator Josh Tobacco tailored the defense into a winning set.

Despite a disappointing end to a season, Dobbs Ferry is already preparing for another championship season next year.
