As the 2016 election draws closer by the hour, the Republican candidates are throwing their last brutal punches to try to undermine their opponents and become the next leader of the U.S. Remaining* are Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, and Ted Cruz, three outspoken, brash, and confident politicians who are ready to make their own legacy. Let’s quickly profile each candidate.

  • Donald Trump: a loud billionaire from NY; looking to protect and defend our country with strong military force and protected borders all around.

  • Marco Rubio: the first Latino senator in history; focused on controlling and upholding U.S. power/image all around the world, by whatever means needed.

  • Ted Cruz: a staunch Texas conservative, spotlighting “unjust” Middle East regimes and gun control as his prime focus for his potential Presidency.

They may all sound the same, but America does not agree. Trump leads by a mile (i.e 10%) winning New Hampshire and South Carolina, two key swing states. Cruz secured Iowa, but Rubio has edged him out (by 1%) previously, in Nevada. Both candidates see themselves as an alternative to Trump, seeking to acquire traditional Republican voters. Speculation is abound on whether this is the last breaths of the GOP, as we see the party base literally splitting in two (Trump vs. everyone else). Certainly, we hope this is untrue, as the majority of the US legislature is Republican (54% of the Senate, 56% of the House, 62% of state governors).

Lots of drama has made this race vibrant and shocking to the population. When Judgment Day comes (November 8, 2016) we’ll all find out who we choose as the torchbearer of the U.S. (even if it’s not a Republican).

* Note: Ben Carson and John Kasich have not yet dropped out, but trail in the polls by more than 12%. Jeb Bush, Carly Fiorina, Mike Huckabee, Chris Christie, George Pataki, Rick Perry, Bobby Jindal, and Rick Santorum are the major dropped-out candidates.
