The Giver is an amazing book about a dystopian society where everything is perfect. Or so it seems…in “The Community” when you turn 12 you are given an assignment (A Pre-Chosen Life-long Job). and when Jonas–a normal boy–is chosen to be The Receiver. Now he must work with a man only known as the Giver.

The further you progress through the book, the relationship between the Giver and Jonas slowly develops into something almost like family, to the point where Jonas is traumatized by something he sees and would rather stay with The Giver than his own family…

Now, as the plot thickens and  secrets are unraveled, he must uncover the truth.
