Inbound… Arcidiacono dribbles down, pick by Ochefu, drops it off to Jenkins… Jenkins shoots for the championship… Yes! Yes! He got it! Villanova is the 2016 NCAA champion!” And with that call, we have a fitting end to college basketball this year. In the title game, Villanova defeated UNC in a 77-74 thriller, on a heroic three by Kris Jenkins. That miracle shot wrapped up an amazing, upset-filled tournament. Middle Tennessee over Michigan State, Yale over Baylor. That was just the first round. In the second round and Sweet 16, tons of exciting games (think: Gonzaga-Syracuse). Elite Eight? Final Four? Great. Oklahoma decimated by Nova in a 95-51 rout, with UNC handling ‘Cuse 83-66. And of course, the title game, the championship destined for the Wildcats’ hands on a magical 3-point heave at the buzzer. Congrats to Villanova and the rest of the teams on a great tournament.
