On Saturday January 21st  millions of people marched in the Women’s march. This Women’s march didn’t only take place in Washington D.C. it took place all around the world! In London, New York City, Paris, Las Vegas, and New Zealand, women and men across the world joined together to get their message across that women are just important as men and deserve equal  rights. These women struggled to get the point through by sending their thoughts to Trump’s new backyard.

But, here in the U.S.A. people were not only marching for women’s rights. They were marching against our newest president elect, President Trump.  A big protest point was racist comments from the newly elected 45th president.  Many muslims were there protesting for their rights. Also, many hispanic people protested against the building of a wall between Mexico and America.

In this global procession millions of people took to the streets and cities with creative signs and spirits. “Show me what democracy looks like!” “This is what democracy looks like!” many people shouted as they marched down Pennsylvania Avenue. While all the people marching had a strong message, they did so in a peaceful manner.

Overall, this movement was a rousing success, bringing the chant directly to the backyard of the new president. Both men and women alike marched not just against Trump, but also for the rights for all as equal. We hope to see more promising marches like this appear in the future, perhaps sometime soon.
